Course AuditEnglish 201 Posting
Welcome back! As English 201 is coming to an end and exam week is looming over us all once again, i’m sure you are interested to hear about my experience in this course and gain a bit of background knowledge about the posting.
I planned on taking this course to help me expand my knowledge of the interactions between technology and humanities, and of course it did. I learned how to use so many valuable tools for my research in different aspects of my career and education. Each week brought forth new difficulties but both Grant and Annalise were extremely quick to respond to any questions and help lessen the stress of assignments.
The layout of the course flowed smoothly, allowing for each week to add on a new concept that could later be used in the final project or in the assignments in the weeks to come. Annotations allowed for questions to be asked, answered and most importantly sparked discussions. I will be using annotations in the future during my research projects as wells as different papers for courses. I believe it is super helpful and will be interesting to discover what scientific research papers have been annotated.
I do however wish that there was more structure to the final project. As I was compiling my research and forming it into a page, I started to become unsure if what I was doing was even considered a humanities project at all anymore. I definitely took on a bigger project that what I had thought so a lot more time would be needed to make it closer to what I had imagined. So, maybe each week leading up to the project proposal a small assignment regarding the project could be due, thus getting feedback as I am moving throughout the course to ensure that I am doing the correct thing. More examples would have been helpful to understand what is expected for a final result.
Overall English 201 has been a great experience and I would definitely take something like this again. I have gained valuable tools to use in different aspects of my career and education. It will be interesting to see how I can use the skills gained in this course and apply them to the scientific community.
Thank you for a great course
